through a combination of physical and digital
solutions (videos, articles, newsletters,
online meetings, virtual tours, etc.). Société
du Grand Paris proved that it could adapt,
ensuring that project partners and local
residents continued to receive information:
In several areas, information for local
residents was expanded and updated to
cover the resumption of construction work
during the first lockdown following the
initial few weeks of interruption. In addition
to push emails, Société du Grand Paris
made use of paper-based materials
(mailings, posters in building entrance
halls and on fencing around worksites) and
enlisted the help of local outreach agents.
Public information meetings were also
adapted to comply with Covid-19
restrictions. In July, an information booth
was set up near the Résistance structure
in Issy-les-Moulineaux to answer local
residents questions. During the November
lockdown, a virtual public meeting was held
to inform local residents about tunnel
borer Ellen restarting in Bagneux:
Worksite tours also continued, adapted as
necessary to comply with the restrictions, for
example to mark the arrival of tunnel borer
Ellen at the Fort d Issy Vanves Clamart
station or to show elected officials the
progress of works at the stations for the
towns of Bagneux and Châtillon-Montrouge.
A stricter Covid-19 health protocol was
put in place.
A multi-themed exhibition stand was
created to showcase the Grand Paris
Express, its work and career opportunities,
the Fabrique du Métro and the Société du
Grand Paris educational programme.
This modular, transportable stand provides
a space for sharing and disseminating
information and educational resources.
A growing community on
social networks The keen public interest in content on the
Grand Paris Express is highlighted by the
strong growth of its social media community.
Between 2019 and 2020, the number of
followers increased by 55% on average across
all platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
and Instagram).
Continued lobbying Société du Grand Paris expanded the
information on the project and its progress
that it provides to French parliamentarians
by taking part in hearings or by sending them
correspondence on the latest news and next
steps for the Grand Paris Express. It also
met with MEPs and European institutions
to discuss the European dimension of
the project and to strengthen the project s
international profile.
