Preparation of offsetting
measures for Lines 17 North,
18 and 15 West The forestry offsetting measures for Lines 17
North, 18 and 15 West will be implemented
as part of the Plaine de Pierrelaye forestry
development project.
On 16 October 2020, a rider to the
cooperation agreement with the Plaine
de Pierrelaye Joint Forestry Development
Association for the implementation of
offsetting measures for land clearance was
signed. This brings the total area covered
by offsetting measures for this project
to over 35 hectares.
The first planting under the offsetting
measures will take place in autumn 2021.
Partnerships and contracts
entered into in 2020
for implementing offsetting
measures Two specialised ecological engineering
companies, Pinson Paysage and Arbéo, have
been awarded a public procurement contract
to implement several offsetting measures.
Three offsetting projects will be undertaken
in 2021: restoration of wooded areas in
Noisiel Park (department 77), restoration
of an ecological corridor at the École
Polytechnique (91), restoration of semi-open
and thermophilic areas at the Port aux Cerises
site (91).
A cooperation agreement for implementing
ecological offsetting measures in Noisiel
Park was signed on 3 March 2020 with
the Paris-Vallée de la Marne inter-council
partnership, which manages the park.
ACTION 12 Implement planting/replanting initiatives to foster biodiversity
Some of the project s construction areas with particular ecological challenges (presence
of protected and/or heritage species, wetlands, woodlands, etc.) were identified based on
the results of the ecological inventories carried out since the start of the project.
Specific measures were then defined by rigorously applying the legislative and regulatory
principles of the ARO strategy: Avoid, Reduce, Offset.
When avoidance and reduction measures do not sufficiently reduce the impact on biodiversity
and so-called residual impacts persist, offsetting measures are implemented to counterbalance
these impacts according to the principle of ecological equivalence (no net loss). These measures
take the form of ecological restoration work, such as planting/replanting, which is carried out
with an emphasis on the use of wild and local plants.
Société du Grand Paris is committed to selecting offsetting measures suited to the challenges
of the project, both from an ecological standpoint and in terms of integrating the offsetting
projects within the region.
