IN 2020
First year of operation of
the new Société du Grand Paris
headquarters Consumption in 2020 varied depending on
the occupancy rate of the building. It grew in
the last half of 2020 with the increase in staff
and the gradual resumption of work on site
after the first full lockdown in March and
April 2020.
Challenges facing Société du Grand Paris
Objectives 2020 consumption indicators at Le Moods
Establish sustainable consumption and production patterns: use natural resources efficiently, reduce food waste, prevent waste generation, recycle and reuse (SDG 12)
Understand and control the impact of employees operations at their workplace
Reduce energy consumption
8,719,111 KWh of electricity used
Preserve water resources 19,219 m3 of city water consumed
Manage waste and promote the circular economy
43.27 tonnes of waste produced in total, 47% of which is ordinary industrial waste (OIW)
Achieve the zero paper and zero plastic target
3.85 tonnes of paper waste
ACTION 20 Integrate environmental and social criteria into the choice of
internal service providers and ensure effective implementation
Responsible purchasing and monitoring of commitments
The specifications for service contracts (catering, maintenance, etc.) include commitments
on waste reclamation and composting, achieving zero paper and zero plastic targets, and
responsible supply logistics.
These social and environmental criteria were worth 5% each in the bid assessment process.
Monitoring and reports are submitted regularly to ensure compliance with these commitments
and give employees an overview of the initiatives implemented. Campaigns to raise awareness of
best practices are also carried out (communication and awareness-raising initiatives, publication
of sorting and use guides, etc.).
High expectations among employees regarding waste management
Waste management is one of the priorities for action raised by employees on which Société
du Grand Paris must act. In response to these expectations, a selective waste sorting process
has been set up. Specific bins for paper, plastics and non-recyclable products are provided in
dedicated areas on each floor, replacing the bins at workstations. A waste sorting line has been
installed in the basement.
