Compensation for local
retailers affected In 2020, 36 new compensation claims were
filed for economic damage resulting from
the existence of worksite rights-of-way and
the committee issued 25 opinions. Société
du Grand Paris responded positively to 16
of these claims for a total of 917,935.
In four years, 22 claimants have gone before
the administrative courts to contest Société
du Grand Paris s decision or the amount paid
to them. None of these appeals resulted in an
unfavourable decision for Société du Grand
Paris, thereby underlining the thoroughness
and relevance of this support process.
Maintaining the appeal of local retailers and artisans throughout the project
Société du Grand Paris has introduced a compensation scheme for local retailers affected by its
worksites. Its goal is to maintain the appeal of local retailers and artisans throughout the project.
To this end, an amicable compensation committee was formed to assess compensation claims
from business owners around the worksites. It is chaired by an administrative judge and made up
of representatives of Société du Grand Paris and the RATP (for Line 4 not programme managed
by Société du Grand Paris and Line 14) and representatives of local authorities and economic
stakeholders.
The committee generally meets once a month at Société du Grand Paris s head office and
sends its opinions to the Management Board, which has sole authority to make a final decision
on any compensation claim submitted to Société du Grand Paris.
