Environmental manager
recruited for each line By recruiting an environmental manager
for each line, Société du Grand Paris is
ensuring that environmental rules are
properly followed. They inform and support
the project manager teams and contractors
holding public procurement contracts
on how to comply with the requirements
and measures set out in the relevant
documents: environmental compliance
notice, environmental authorisations,
impact studies, etc.
Line 16: two measures
implemented to prevent and
manage environmental impacts The Grand Paris Express Line 16 project is
being developed on a site with significant
biodiversity-related issues. The line will
be built near natural areas such as
Georges Valbon Park and Sausset Park,
both of which have been designated
Natura 2000 sites because of the wildlife,
in particular birds, living around their bodies
of water.
To preserve these habitats and the
water supply to these ponds, Société du
Grand Paris has joined forces with the
Seine-Saint-Denis departmental council,
which manages the parks, to implement
a measure that involves setting up a system
that continuously monitors the water level
in the ponds and uses a deep borehole to
replenish them with water of excellent
quality when required. Work on the pond
replenishment system in Georges Valbon
Park has been completed and work on the
system for the Sausset Park started in 2020.
