Environmental friendliness Project acceptance
The risk is the degradation or pollution by Société du Grand Paris s subcontractors and its worksites of a natural environment, a landscape, a classified area, a classified wooded area, wetlands, or protected species. It also includes failure to comply with the landscape integration of worksites and structures and with land clearance compensation and authorisations, or failure to prevent noise and vibrations during the works. This risk includes the implementation of an effective dissuasion policy (audit, environmental charter for worksites, financial penalties) by Société du Grand Paris to encourage contractors to do their utmost to comply with regulations.
The risk is that the public will no longer support the Grand Paris Express project. It must take into account the correct sizing and coordination of the measures implemented to control it. It includes the nuisance caused by the worksites to local residents, retailers and transport users. The ongoing presence and visibility of Société du Grand Paris and its service providers in the area increases the risk. This risk has been significantly accentuated by the Covid-19 crisis, forcing local residents to be at home and endure the nuisance caused by the works.

Strengthening of support teams Appointing an environmental manager for each Grand Paris Express line
Response to legislation Implementation of conservation and precautionary measures in sensitive areas Establishment of a worksite environmental charter included in the contractual arrangements Strengthening of legal documents
Strengthening of control systems and tools Introduction of annual environmental audit campaigns Traceability systems for polluted and unpolluted excavated materials

Measures to reduce worksite nuisance and disruption Widespread use of the Silent Worksite approach (white paper containing all solutions to noise generated by urban worksites and feedback made available to construction companies) and the worksite weather system (innovative digital solution tested on one of the Line 15 South worksites, which aims to provide complete and transparent information on noise pollution): installation of acoustic fencing
